Arraignments scheduled in illegal firearm cases

CHARLESTON -- A father and son will be in court Wednesday for charges related to a stolen firearm.

Derrick Wilkerson, 48, of Charleston and Jacob Wilkerson, 24, of Bertrand are scheduled to be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. on charges of receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Following an investigation into the Aug. 12 theft of a .45 caliber Sig Sauer handgun, the men were arrested Aug. 14, according to a news release issued Friday by Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore.
