Joan Hill
ORAN -- Joan Gayle Hill, 69, died Sept. 11, 2012, at her home.
Born Nov. 11, 1942, at Miller City, Ill., to Edith Louise Davison Ice of Cairo, Ill., and the late Thomas Franklin Ice, she had lived in Oran for over 40 years and was a member of the Miner Baptist Church. She had been employed as a home health worker until her retirement.
On Nov. 25, 1965, she married Charles David Hill, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include: one daughter, Anne Renee Hill-Hubbard of Lansing, Mich.; one brother, Tommy "Sonny" Ice of Mounds, Ill.; four sisters, Sharon Dunn, Barbara Pulliam and Pamela Ice of Cairo, Ill., and Brenda Bone of Charleston; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Mitch Jackson, pastor of the Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Holmes, Phil Lacy, Justin Ice, Shawn Ice, Brandon Bone and Ray Dorris.
