New Charleston city manager settling into job
CHARLESTON -- As Charleston's new city manager, Richard Goode is looking to make a difference in the everyday lives of the Mississippi County town's residents.
The Kentucky native officially took over as city manager on Sept. 1. However, since the date fell over the Labor Day holiday weekend, his actual first day on the job was Sept. 4.
The city hosted a reception from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today for residents to meet their new city manager. Goode filled the position following the March 19 death of then-city manager Daniel Gruen.
Both Goode and his wife, Katee, grew up in Paducah, Ky., but left home to attend college.
