Marion Billington
KEVIL, Ky. -- Marion Thomas Billington, 96, died Sept. 13, 2012, at his home.
Born July 17, 1916, in Lilbourn, Mo., to the late Samuel Elmer and Edna Sheridan Billington, he was of the General Baptist belief. He had worked as a general contractor and supervisor for Stone and Webster Construction Company. He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marine, a 63-year member of Trio #57 AF&AM in Rock Island, Ill., and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois.
On Jan. 25, 1941, in Benton, Mo., he married Marjorie L. Troxell, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Marion Eugene Billington and Cindy of Kevil; one brother, Burl Billington of Williston, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Brandi Billington Sims of Paducah; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.
