SIKESTON - Along with the beauty of fall foliage comes the task of dealing with a seemingly never-ending supply of fallen leaves.
While some residents opt to mulch or compost their leaves, the majority of Sikeston's residents will take advantage of the City's Leaf Collection Program which begins Nov. 19.
The leaves are to be placed on the back of the curb - not in the gutter line or on the street, and no further than 4 feet in the yard. Residents should place only leaves on the edge of the street, so that they may be picked up in as timely a manner as possible. Also residents should keep in mind that crews cannot operate onto private drives.
No limbs or trash should be mixed with the leaves.
The city is split into four sections for pickup: Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, and Southeast Sections.
