DEXTER -- Charles Ray Pippins, 80, died Dec. 20, 2012. Born March 21, 1932, in Bernie, to the late Rube and Ruby Glass Pippins, he was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, where he served as a trustee and caregiver and was an active supporter of the church youth program. He had worked for Worley Implement Company as a mechanic before he began farming in 1960...

DEXTER -- Charles Ray Pippins, 80, died Dec. 20, 2012.

Born March 21, 1932, in Bernie, to the late Rube and Ruby Glass Pippins, he was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, where he served as a trustee and caregiver and was an active supporter of the church youth program. He had worked for Worley Implement Company as a mechanic before he began farming in 1960.

He first married Marilyn Faye Pippins who preceded him in death May 29, 2007.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Charlyn Cay Pippins.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Matthew Goddard of Jones, Okla.; one brother, Bill Pippins Sr. of Dexter; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
