CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Dr. James M. Drickey, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Feb.19, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Spencer, Neb., to Charles A. and Blanche Dorothy Drickey.
James attended County schools and Spencer Public Schools for his elementary
school in Crawford and Harrison County until entering the U.S. Army. James served in the Army as a Chaplain's Assistant for 3-1/2 years. James completed his PhD degree in Psychology at the University of Denver. James taught psychology and worked in administration at Southeast Missouri State University for 36 years. During his tenure, in addition to his teaching, he served as a consultant for Headstart and worked for the Bureau of Disability Determination.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Randy Shrum officiating and military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard.
Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
