PORTAGEVILLE -- Wilma Underwood, 82, died Feb. 22, 2013, at her daughter's home in East Prairie.
Born Sept. 18, 1939, in Portageville, to the late Walter and Eula Agnes Montgomery Tanner, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville where she was a Sunday School teacher. She worked at New Madrid County Library for many years.
On Aug. 21, 1971, in Portageville, she was united in marriage to Gene Underwood who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Walter Ace of Rock Hill, S.C.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rita Ace Owen of Portageville, Sherry and Wub Riley of New Madrid and Robin and Phillip Carlyle of East Prairie; three sisters, Norma Jean (Ralph) Sander of Golden, Colo., Betty Sue Ellis of Portageville and Syble Willey of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Estalee Tanner of Portageville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Lisa Owen and Whitman, Jason Owen, Tanner and Heather Ace, Tara Ace and Dylan and Kaylee, Joseph and Jennifer Faries and Mya and Bethanie, Morgan and Matt Brasher and Brodie, Chantelle Fisher and Kaidyn and Raigan, Chelsea and Brianne Allen; and special loved ones, Billy and Judy Fisher of Portageville.
Preceding her in death, were her parents, Eula Montgomery Tanner and Walter Tanner; a sister, Alba Mae (Ralph) Howard; brothers, Wilford Charles Tanner, W.A. Gooden Tanner, Lloyd and Pernie Tanner, Sibert and Roberta Tanner; a brother-in-law, Denzel Willey; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy Ace.
