SIKESTON - The Rev. Henry Clarence Burnett Jr., 76, formerly of Prattsville, Ark., died Feb. 25, 2013, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born April 23, 1936, in Mt. Pine, Ark., to the late Henry Clarence and Idalia Harris Burnett Sr., he was a retired Assembly of God minister who pastored churches in Arkansas and Mississippi. He also served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and for many years was a referee for basketball, baseball and football games.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi Ruth Cox Burnett, and an infant daughter, Virginia Pauline Burnett.
Survivors include: his wife, Millie Worthington Burnett of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clay and Tammy Burnett of Prattsville and Louis and Maribel Burnett of Gonzales, La.; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Frank and Alisa Worthington and David and Sonya Worthington of Sikeston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruthie and Tim Estes of Malvern, Ark., and Leona Burnett of Gonzales; one brother, Harris Burnett of Irvine, Calif.; one sister, Iris Snell of Mt. View; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Ark., where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
