DEXTER -- Jerry B. Gossett, 77, died March 14, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau

Born Jan. 18, 1936, in Piggott, Ark., son of the late Millage Gossett and Mildred Campbell, he was the owner and operator of Gossett and Morgan Associates Inc. in Warren, Mich., and Arnold. He was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge 2439 and a longstanding member of the Dexter Water Board District No. 1. He was of the Baptist belief.

On Jan. 1, 1954, in Dearborn, Mich., he married Delores J. Johnson, who preceded him in death Dec. 29, 2007. On Feb. 21, 2009, in Dexter he married Juanita Ragsdale who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: four daughters, Judy and Jeff McDonald of Crystal River, Fla., Teresa and Mike Larocque of High Ridge, Diane Mitchell of Summerville, S.C., and Barbara and Tim Judge of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Gossett of Paragould, Ark., and Norman Gossett of Pocahontas, Ark.; two sisters, Susan Krause of Piggott and Judy Darlene Messer of Bimble, Ky.; three stepchildren, Jerrid Ragsdale of Lenoir City, Tenn., James Warren Ragsdale of Meansville, Ga., and Jacquline Allender of Dexter; and six grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 23 great-stepgrandchildren.

Besides his first wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Doug Mitchell, one brother, David Gossett, two sisters, Jane Brit and Mona Bare, and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Revs. Kevin Murray and Michael Williams officiating.

Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott.
