SIKESTON -- Their undefeated streak continues.
Sikeston's junior varsity baseball team defeated the Kennett Indians Friday at VFW Memorial Stadium 7-4 for their seventh straight victory of the season.
Sebastian Matos got the win on the mound for Sikeston after a complete game effort. The right-hander struck out eight batters while walking two and allowing three earned runs. Kennett was able to tag Matos with seven hits, but the Sikeston defense limited the damage only committing two errors on the day.
Not only did Matos keep the visiting Indians off the board, he helped put his team on it.
Matos led the Bulldogs with a 3 for 3 performance at the dish driving in two runs in the process. Audi Hay chipped in with two hits including a double with two RBIs. Colton Hampton added a double as well.
Sikeston (7-0) took an early 3-2 lead after two innings, but Kennett managed to push a run across in the top of the third.
It wasn't until the bottom of the sixth that Sikeston put the game out of reach plastering four runs in the inning.
Sikeston was scheduled to take part in the Cape Central JV Tournament Saturday. Their next game will by Monday on the road against Marion, Ill.
