MARION, Ill., -- Trey Tigart pitched a complete game shutout and the Sikeston Bulldogs defeated Marion, Ill., 6-0 Monday on the road.

Tigart, who is 2-2 on the mound so far this season, allowed four hits while hitting a batter and walking another. He also struck out five.

The Bulldogs (9-2) totaled seven hits in the contest and were led by Gavin O'Brien's three singles and two RBIs. Jarett Sandlin also knocked a run in while Tyler Anderson scored two runs. Josh Hampton and Patrick Smith each added a hit to the cause.

Sikeston jumped on the scoreboard in the third inning with four runs. They added two insurance runs in the top of the fifth.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play Charleston today at 6 p.m.

The Sikeston junior varsity team blanked Marion 5-0 Monday.

Jacob Clark threw a complete game shutout striking out nine batters while walking three and giving up two hits.

Luke Williams led the squad at the plate with two hits including a triple. Sikeston had six hits total in the win.
