SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Little Theatre will take its audience on a magic carpet ride during its upcoming youth production of "Aladdin Jr."
With performances set for at 7 p.m. June 6-8 and 2 p.m. June 9 at the Sikeston Little Theatre, the production is a condensed stage adaptation of the Disney film, "Aladdin."
As of Friday morning, tickets for all the performances are still available; however, the June 7 performance is becoming very limited, according to an employee of Collins Music in downtown Sikeston where tickets are sold in advance.
Set in Agrabah -- the City of Enchantment -- "Aladdin Jr." follows Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Genie and his sidekick, Rugman, and features the award-winning songs, "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me."
Taylor, who previously directed the Little Theatre's production of "Peter Pan," said production of "Aladdin Jr." is going extremely well.
"It's a fantastic show. We have such an incredible cast of actors," said Taylor, who has been involved with Little Theatre for 12 years.
Taylor said Little Theatre veteran actors Ken Shields and Steve Beydler of Sikeston are the only adults in the production; the rest of the cast is comprised of 30 to 35 local junior high and high school students.
