Ant answers

To the person wanting an anti-ant remedy, I suggest a relatively nontoxic cedar oil pump spray that can be bought through the Vermont Country Store catalog. It maybe can be bought at other places, but I do know that it can be purchased there. It seems to work well spraying it on windowsills and places like that.

I'm responding to the person with the ant problem. They might try to get large grain cornmeal and put it around the house and on the anthills. Ants can't digest the large grain cornmeal. They take it back to their dens and try to eat it and it kills them. Also, if they will buy peppermint oil and put it on cotton balls and put it around their house and door entrances, most ants and rodents do not like the smell of peppermint.

Bugged by litter bug

I would like to tell of an experience I had with the DPS of Sikeston. Just recently I witnessed someone littering the street in our neighborhood. I had the license number and talked to a policeman later that day and explained to them and showed them the trash was still there and offered them the license number. They said they would ride around and see if they could find the vehicle I described, that maybe they lived in the neighborhood. They never once gave any interest in having the license number. I just wonder what the fine is, or if there is even a fine, for littering our streets. Maybe this is something that needs to be addressed more than it has been in the past.
