SCOTT CITY -- In the first game of a scheduled doubleheader Wednesday, Scott County American Legion Post 369 fell to Dunklin County Post 303 14-0 in five innings via the mercy rule.

Dunklin County rallied for two runs in each of the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead before putting up another five runs in the top of the fourth. One final three-run rally in the fifth made up the final.

Leading an eight-hit effort by Scott County, Trent Pobst had three hits while Layne Spies had the team's only extra-base hit, a double. Logan Henson, Lane Henson, Jordan Kinder and Tyler Rodgers each contributed a single.

In the night's second contest Post 369 was trailing 6-0 in the fourth before inclement weather forced the two teams to cut things short.

Scott County now stands at 4-10 on the season.
