SIKESTON -- Thanks in part to a four-run fourth-inning rally on Monday Sikeston American Legion Post 114 overcame an early deficit against Scott County Post 369 for a 9-6 win.

Despite a two-run outburst in the second frame Post 114 soon found themselves trailing when Scott County rallied for three runs in the top of the third. Sikeston answered with it's second straight two-run rally in the bottom of the frame to retake the lead before jumping ahead 8-4 with four more runs in the fourth.

Scott County put together one last two-run rally in the sixth to close back to within a pair of runs, but Post 114 was able to hold off the comeback and even plated another insurance run in the home half of the sixth.

At the plate Josh Hampton led Sikeston with a 3 for 4 effort while Patrick Smith contributed two hits, including a triple.

For Post 369, Zach Carlyle had two hits and three RBI. Jordan Kinder and Lane Henson each had two hits as well while Logan Henson and Tyler Rodgers each drove in a run.

Sikeston now stands at 15-13 on the season and Scott County falls to 4-16-1.
