SIKESTON -- September will bring a new face to hospital fundraising.

Blair Moran, executive director of the Missouri Delta Medical Center Foundation until he retires at the end of the month, has served as the head of the MDMC's fundraising entity nearly as long as there has been a Foundation.

"I started September of 1994," Moran said. "The Foundation was established in April of 1991. The late Jean Collins was the executive director for three years and I replaced her when she retired."

Moran said he was working in the insurance business prior to leading the Foundation.

"I felt I needed a career change and this was a great opportunity," he said. "So I took advantage of it and they were nice enough to hire me."

Missouri Delta officials over the years couldn't have been more pleased with their choice.

"The one word that really defines Blair Moran is service," said Jason Schrumpf, president of MDMC.
