SIKESTON -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is currently preparing to retrofit two signals in Sikeston with flashing yellow arrows. The signals are located at the US 60 and Route 61.
The updated signals will feature flashing yellow arrows for left turning traffic, which will help increase efficiency during off-peak times. A flashing yellow arrow will signify that drivers turning left should yield to oncoming traffic. The signals will also display solid green arrows when left turning traffic has the right of way. A solid yellow arrow will indicate drivers should prepare to stop or complete the turn if in the intersection.
Weather permitting, work will begin Aug. 28 and will be completed by Aug. 29. As work is underway, traffic will be minimally impacted.
