Hot summer

Morehouse and Sikeston fire personnel responded to a series of grass fires along Highway 60 just after noon on Monday. The fires began about six miles west of Sikeston along the eastbound side of the four-lane road. Smoke slowed traffic, but no accidents were reported due to the blazes.
