PERRYVILLE -- Plagued by a barrage of errors, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs lost 11-1 in six innings to Perryville Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs committed 13 errors which allowed Perryville the majority of their runs as the Lady Pirates had just three hits.
Sikeston (1-1) scored their lone run in the top of the third inning when Hanna Placek hit a triple. Maggie Shepherd drove her in with an RBI single.
Perryville opened the game with five runs in the first. They scored one in the second and third and ended the game with three in the sixth via the mercy rule.
Madison Smith was the hard-luck loser for Sikeston throwing all six innings.
Sikeston is on the road again today when they travel to Farmington.
The Sikeston junior varsity (1-1) defeated Perryville 4-1 behind the pitching effort of Madeline Witt.
Kelly 10, Delta 2
DELTA -- Moving their winning streak to three-straight games to start the season, the Kelly Lady Hawks defeated the Delta Lady Bobcats 10-2 on Tuesday.
Kelly took the lead with a five-run rally in the top of the second that included a grand slam from junior Samantha Ratldege.
Another four runs combined in the third and fifth innings put the Lady Hawks ahead 9-0 before Delta got on the board with its first run in the bottom of the fifth. Each team added one more run in the sixth to make up the final.
Senior Jade Rampley went 2 for 4 with a triple and sophomore Alexis Dock was 2 for 3.
Junior Kristi Brucker picked up the win inside the circle with a complete game effort. She allowed one earned run on eight hits and a walk while striking out nine.
Now at 3-0, Kelly will take part in the Notre Dame Softballfest starting Thursday. They'll open up against Chaffee, who they've already beaten 15-0 once this year, at 4:30 p.m. at Notre Dame High School.
Oran 7, Neelyville 4
ORAN -- Oran pitcher Aubrianna Jones threw a complete game during Oran's 7-4 win over Neelyville Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles, who have started the year winning their first three games, fell behind by one after Neelyville scratched out a run in the top of the first inning. Oran bounced back to tie the game at one after three innings and then took a 4-2 lead after four.
Neelyville ended up tying the game again in the fifth, but Oran plated two more runs in their half of the inning and added one more in the sixth to end it.
Addie Kielhofner led the Lady Eagles with three singles. Jones, Crissy Sauceda and Allie Cummins each had a double. Morgan Todt added a single as well.
Oran (3-0) will take part in the Notre Dame Softballfest starting Thursday.
GIRLS TENNIS
Dexter 9, Charleston 0
CHARLESTON - The Dexter varsity girls tennis team cruised past Charleston 9-0 Tuesday afternoon.
Dexter improves to 1-1 on the young season with the victory.
There was no junior varsity match Tuesday.
Dexter returns to action today when it hosts Sikeston in its home opener.

FALL BASEBALL
Risco 9, Clarkton 4
CLARKTON -- In holding back a late Clarkton rally on Tuesday the Risco Tigers picked up their first win of the season, 9-4.
Risco put together rallies of three and four runs, respectively, in each of the first two innings before going up 8-1 after the fourth frame. They added one more insurance run in the top of the sixth inning to go up by eight runs, but a Clarkton rally in the bottom of the frame soon cut the Tigers' advantage considerably.
Fortunately for Risco, the damage was limited to three runs in the sixth with the Tigers holding on for the 9-4 win.
Brandon Bixler earned the win with six innings of work where he allowed three hits and five walks while striking out 11.
At the plate Jordon Pavy went 3 for 4 with a double and a solo home run. He also drove in two runs while scoring three.
Besides earning the win Bixler also had three hits at the plate, including a double and a two-run home run. Justin Earnheart added two hits to the cause.
Risco (1-2) will travel to Bernie to play the Mules Thursday at 4 p.m.
Bloomfield 9, Puxico 0
PUXICO - The Bloomfield Wildcats baseball team moved back to the .500 mark Tuesday afternoon with a convincing 9-0 win against the Puxico Indians.
Tim Fox earned a win on the mound for the Wildcats. He struck out 12 in five innings pitched. Fox also went 2 for 3 at the plate with three RBIs.
Triston Mitchell finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Noah Vandiver was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Alex Gibs was 2 for 4 with one RBI.
Bloomfield (2-2) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Leopold at 4:30 p.m.
"Today was a good bounce back from Saturday," Bloomfield coach Tyler Trovers said. "It was good to have TIm back. He's was a jolt for our offense. We hit the ball well today. It was a good start to the week and we'll try to keep it going against a good Leopold team Saturday."
