Touched by HopeFest

To the service workers of God at the HopeFest on Saturday, Aug. 17. I hope I speak for every family that served the day of the Fest. You all were a blessing to many people. The community is very grateful for your kindness. All of the workers worked together as a team. Whether it was on the line greeting people, or working the registration table, or the givers of school supplies, the picture takers, vision care and medical care, DJ and food providers, everyone worked together to provide a much needed service to our community. Kudos comes from me. Your generosity touched my heart. We need more teamwork in our community and the HopeFest is setting the role model. I am asking for special blessing to all who make the HopeFest Back to School Day a success.

We deserve straight answer

There is nothing wrong or political about asking an elected representative about their opinions and intentions. There is something wrong when you don't get an answer. There is something wrong when a surrogate with a nasty streak has to answer with a personal attack on the person who asked the question and not address the facts of the question. Have you noticed that no politician answers a direct question anymore? I have no desire to pay more taxes. I do have a desire to have excellent schools for our children. I do have a desire to drive on good roads and bridges. I do have a desire to sleep safe in my home and be able to walk safe streets. I have a desire to know my food is clean and wholesome and inspected. I am sick of Missouri having no ethics laws when it comes to money or elections. Millionaires have eliminated the Average Joe from politics. If you don't require the elected to answer your questions, or worse you don't ask the questions, you only know the prepared line that's prepared for propaganda purposes. I'm not so dumb as to believe that you can pay for government on the credit card. If an elected representative can't answer questions and give clear statements of their goals, God help us. We are not putting much effort into electing them.
