Getting ready to ramble

Planning is under way for the fifth annual Cotton Ramble Bicycle Ride, set for Oct. 12. This year's event will feature 13, 26 and 65 routes as well as a new 100-mile route for cycllists. All the routes begin and end at the Sikeston Depot Museum. Preregistration is $15 prior to Oct. 1 for those ages 15 and over ($7 for those 14 and under) and after Oct. 1 is $20 for those 15 and over ($10 for those 14 and under). Participant under 14 or younger must ride with a parent. Taking part in the recent planning session were Jiggs Moore, Allen Meeks, Briley Smith, Tony Sloan, Ed Cowan and Rodney McConnell.
