Husband arrested, charged with murder of wife

SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man was arrested for the shooting death of his wife early Thursday.

Stevie C. Lott is charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, being a felon in possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of a shooting.

The charges stem from an incident which began around 3 a.m.Thursday when the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance on John R. Boulevard in Sikeston, according to Capt. Jim McMillen, public information office for DPS. Upon officers' arrival, they located the body of 26-year-old Nyketia Lott.
