Haywood City woman charged for endangering her children

BENTON - Four children were removed from the custody of a Haywood City woman, who faces charges following an investigation into an abuse allegation.

Cassandra L. Gipson, 27, is charged with four counts of the Class C felony of first degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, Deputy Danny Finley, working a joint investigation with the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children's Division, went to a local school on Friday to investigate a report of injuries to a child resulting from abuse or neglect.

The Investigators then went to the residence in Haywood City to check the living conditions there. While Gipson was not present at the residence when investigators arrived, they did discovered enough evidence for the Children's Division to remove four juveniles from the residence, Walter said in a news release.
