DEXTER -- Reaching the 1,000 point scoring milestone in a high school basketball career is quite a feat.

Two players reaching the mark on the same team in the same game is something longtime coach Chad Allen had never witnessed until Monday when Dexter senior guard Hannah Noe scored the 1,000th point of her high school career if the first half and Dexter senior guard Alison Jarrell did the same in the second half.

The scoring milestones proved to be the story of the night as the Dexter Bearcats varsity girls basketball team beat the Kennett Indians 80-35.

"It's an amazing accomplishment, especially on the same night to have two players score their 1,000th point," Allen said. "Both of them have developed into great players and will be going onto the next level and playing college as well.

"I'm proud of them and the whole team," Allen continued. "All four of our seniors know each other real well, have been playing with each other since the third grade and have developed into a great team. They look for each other and are unselfish. The fact that the points are spread out shows you how unselfish they are. Even Paige and Erica are starting to get closer to that 1,000th point and it's just awesome to have players like that."

Noe said she knew she was 12 points from 1,000 entering the contest. She scored exactly that many in the first half when she hit a free throw with three seconds left in the second quarter.

"I knew I was 12 away," Noe said. "I didn't really realize until I made it and looked up on the scoreboard and saw I had 12 points."

Jarrell said she knew she was approaching the number after overhearing talk from her parents, but was unaware she had surpassed it until Noe informed her after she drained a 3-pointer with 6:50 remaining in regulation.

"That was awesome," Jarrell said with a laugh. "We did not plan that at all. Hannah was like 'you just got it' and I was like 'that's awesome.'

"I'm really proud we've had such a successful team," Jarrell added. "I couldn't have done it without all of them."

Jarrell and Noe were the top scorers for Dexter.

Jarrell tallied a team-high 21 points. She hit four 3-pointers in the first half and one more in the fourth quarter.

"I just had a good night," Jarrell said.

Noe scored 12 of her 16 points in the first half.
