SIKESTON -- The news was so exciting Library Director Sue Tangeman first wanted to ensure that Sikeston Public Library Board member Libby Caskey was sitting down. When assured she was, Tangeman announced a check to complete the Library's proposed expansion was in hand.

Tangeman had to repeat the figure a second time for Caskey.

A gift from the estate of Anne D. Matthews for $429,500 completed the fundraising efforts to create a new children's programming center in the Library's basement.
