East Prairie man arrested for assault, felonious restraint

EAST PRAIRIE -- An East Prairie man is facing felony charges after his arrest this weekend.
Monte Steven Boyer, 49, of East Prairie, is charged with felonious restraint, a class C felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison and domestic assault, third degree, a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in the county jail, according to a news release from Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore.
Deputy Marc Tragesser was contacted Sunday afternoon about a domestic disturbance which had taken place earlier that day at Eagles Landing. The complainant reportedly said Boyer was intoxicated and had been threatening her all day.
