BELL CITY -- Jumping out to a 21-point lead after the first quarter, the Oran Eagles cruised to an easy 90-60 road win over Bell City on Friday.

Thomas Trankler led the way with 21 points while shooting 10 of 20 form the field and grabbing five rebounds and six assists.

Seth Ressel shot 8 of 13 from the field to finished with 20 points and totaled 11 rebounds, nine assists and five steals in the process. All three were team highs.

Jacob Priggel had 15 points with Hunter Schlosser and Chance Tenkhoff scoring 12 and 10 points respectively.

As a team Oran shot 37 of 68 (54.4 percent) from the floor and 36 of 61 (59 percent) inside the arc.

For the Cubs, Cole Nichols had 16 points with Aaron Smith and Bobby Wright contributing 11 and 10 points each. Bell City hit a total of 11 3-pointers on the game, including a team-high four from Nichols and three from Smith.

SIKESTON -- The Scott County Central Bravettes used a hot fourth quarter Friday to down New Madrid County Central 70-68.

The two team went into halftime tied 35-35 before the Lady Eagles outpaced them 13-11 in the third to grab a two-point advantage. Scott Central responded by outscoring NMCC 24-20 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

Mikaela Blissett led the way for the Bravettes with 25 points, shooting 8 of 17 from the field. She added a team-high 13 rebounds to her effort to go with three steals and two assists.

Johniqua Fort had 21 points, on 9 of 20 shooting, and grabbed nine rebounds. Abby Ross was the third Bravette in double-digits with 13 points.

For NMCC, Rashaunda Summer finished with 21 points while Amirah Ruff and Whitney Williams had 17 and 12 points respectively.

SCOTT CITY -- Thanks to a career best 31-point effort from senior Rebekah Douglas, the East Prairie Lady Eagles moved to .500 on the season with a 65-47 win over host Scott City on Friday.

Douglas scored nine points in the first quarter alone as the Lady Eagles (7-7) opened up a 14-10 lead entering the second period. They were outscored 18-17 in the quarter, but still held a 31-28 lead going into halftime.

Douglas' game-high 31 points came in part from shooting 9 for 14 from the free throw line. Caitlyn Harwell added 22 points to the Lady Eagles' cause, hitting all five of the team's 3-pointers.

For Scott City, Lyndsie Rover had a team-high 23 points, scoring 14 before the half and 10 points in the second quarter.
