EAST PRAIRIE -- A Charleston couple were killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Mississippi County.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 3:57 p.m. on Missouri Highway 105, one mile north of East Prairie, as northbound motorist, Charles M. Ross, 17, swerved to miss a vehicle that was attempting to make a lefthand turn and pulled into the path of the oncoming vehicle operated by Nina M. Marshall, 84, of Charleston.
Marshall, 84, was pronounced dead at 5:24 p.m. at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Her husband and passenger, Alfred H. Marshall, 84, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:30 p.m. by Mississippi County coroner Terry Parker.
The deaths are number 21 and 22 in Troop E for 2014.
