Billy Smith, building maintenance supervisor, said the electrical breaker box for the tennis court restroom facility at the Sikeston Sports and Recreation Complex is way out of date. The restroom, built in 1975, has been on the list for replacement for several years, according to Jiggs Moore, parks division director, but keeps getting pushed back due to budget restrictions. SIKESTON -- If nothing changes in the city budget as presented, things will keep running pretty much as they are but some improvements will have to be put off.

"The city lives within its means like we all should do personally," said Jon Douglass, city manager, during a public hearing Friday for the city's Fiscal Year 2015 Budget.

Douglas presented the first draft of a proposed budget to the Council for review during the April 28 Council meeting.

As presented, the budget includes a projection of $13.121 million in revenue for the fiscal year.
