Bank of New Madrid Scholarship Winner

Alexis Kylie Spence was awarded the Joseph E. and Harriette H. McCrate Scholarship of $1,000.00 at Portageville High School's Graduation ceremony May 8, 2014. This scholarship is given by Bank of New Madrid each year to a graduating senior of the Portageville School District.

Kylie is the daughter of Joelle and Todd Spence and the granddaughter of Claudia Young, all of Portageville, and also John and the late Deloreise Spence of Steele. During her time at PHS Kylie was very involved in BETA Club, National Honor Society, Art Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council and Prom Committee. Her academic performance resulted in the honor of being on the A Honor Roll as well as awards in Algebra I and College Algebra, American History, Geography, Physical Science, General and Advanced Biology, and Chemistry I.

This fall Kylie will attend The University of Alabama where she will pursue a degree in engineering. Bank of New Madrid extends congratulations and best wishes to Kylie and all the 2014 graduates for their achievements and future plans.
