Agreement reached on property violations
CHARLESTON -- Continuing efforts with visible results is what the Mississippi County Commission wants out of those in violation of the county's nuisance ordinance.
A hearing for a property cited under the ordinance was held during the Commission's regular weekly meeting Thursday.
Ken Stevenson, county code enforcement officer, said he was notified of the complaint Jan. 30.
Stevenson said he viewed the property shortly after and found four unlicensed vehicles, a red pickup truck with no motor, a white Jeep with no windshield, a black pickup and old milk truck; as well as lumber, scrap metal "and just general rubbish."
