New Madrid County Library will host a Summer Reading Program during the month of July. The theme is Fizz Boom Read. All children ages 5-12, grades kindergarten through 6th, are welcome. New Madrid County Library will host a Summer Reading Program during the month of July. The theme is Fizz Boom Read. All children ages 5-12, grades kindergarten through 6th, are welcome. Sign up is in progress at all branches. Ms. Janey Kennett from New Madrid will be conducting the program. A series of activities is planned for the reading program with a schedule as follows:

Tuesday, July 8, 15, 22 and 29- Morehouse at 1:00 p.m. and Matthews at 3:00 p.m.

Thursday, July 10, 17, 24 and 31- Portageville at 1:00 p.m. and New Madrid at 3:00 p.m.

Friday, July 11, 18, 25 and August 1- Parma at 1:00 p.m. and Gideon at 3:00 p.m.

Even if a child cannot attend the programs, he or she can still participate in the summer reading program by signing up at any of the branches before July 8th. The child must check out and read 8 books from the library during the four-week period. All children who finish the program will receive a certificate. We look forward to seeing your child in the library.
