East Prairie residents prep for annual festival

EAST PRAIRIE -- Residents of East Prairie are gearing up for the town's 40th annual Sweet Corn Festival.

Set for June 27-28, this year's theme is "Going for the Gold" and includes the 12th Annual Main Street Party and 13th Annual Tour de corn.

"It's a whole weekend that people will come down and enjoy themselves. We truly have something for everyone," said Cyndi Norton, director of the East Prairie Chamber of Commerce.

The event kicks off June 27 with the Main Street Party sponsored by the Downtown Revitalization Committee.

"There will be live music featuring Randy Harrington, Southern Tradition Band, Mitch Pullen, and Raven Hill, and our own jazz band, and, of course, there will be street dancing," Norton said.
