PADUCAH, Ky. - With the threat of storms and even the possibility of a tornado, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for Southeast Missouri.

According to forecasters at the Storm Prediction Center, the entire area is in a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight.

"Damaging wind gusts and hail would be the main hazards," forecasters said. "Some storms will also produce locally heavy rainfall."

The risk of severe thunderstorms continues Tuesday afternoon and night over the entire region as a cold front approaches from the north.

The Nation Weather Service stated although damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the main storm hazards, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Also some storms will produce locally heavy rainfall.
