According to President Stan Ivie, "Not only does Judge Underwood have numerous ties to the county from his previous legal experience, he also has strong family ties to the agricultural community in the county and have had numerous family members employed by Noranda Aluminum Inc. I believe this broad background places Mr. Underwood in a unique position to appreciate the various interests and concerns of all New Madrid County citizens." Assistant Chief Steward Cameron Redd added, "I am encouraged by Judge Underwood's commitment to the prosperity and protection of those who do honest labor, and I'm honored to have such a good family man to support."
