CHESTERFIELD -- History was going to be made, one way or the other.
Barat Academy's story began by simply walking on the field and playing it's first-ever varsity football game. Though a win would have sweetened the team's debut, Portageville became its worst nightmare.
Portageville Junior Danial McCray ran a total of 115 yards in 10 attempts and scored two touchdowns, to lead the Bulldogs to a 42-0 victory over Barat Academy at its home field. Barat Academy has previously only offered junior varsity football, and last year was a stellar year for the team.
