NAYLOR -- A clutch rally in the top of the seventh willed Sikeston to a 7-5 road win over Naylor on Monday, giving the Lady Bulldogs their first three-game winning streak of the season.
Sikeston trailed 5-4 with two outs in the final frame only to score three straight runs to pull out a win.
Ashton Drake provided the game-winning two RBI hit that drove in the tying and go-ahead runs to make it 6-5. Madeline Witt single to drive in Drake to tack on an inurance run and make up the final.
Sikeston pitcher Madison Smith came back out in the bottom of the seventh and closed out a complete game win.
Early on the Lady Bulldogs trailed 3-0 after a three-run rally by the Lady Eagles in the bottom of the third. Two runs in the fourth closed that gap, but Sikeston fell back down 5-2 entering the fifth.
A two-run rally in the fifth put the Lady Bulldogs back within a run and allowed for the seventh inning comeback.
Kylie Noe, Maggie Shepherd, and Hanna Placek and Drake collected two hits each in the contest. Jorgia Aters doubled and drove in two runs.
The win moved the Lady Bulldogs back above the .500 mark on the season at 13-12. They'll open the Class 3, District 1 Tournament against Doniphan today at 6 p.m. at Notre Dame High School.
Chaffee 16, East Prairie 1
CHAFFEE -- The Chaffee Lady Red Devils closed out the regular season with a 16-1 win over visiting East Prairie on Tuesday.
Chaffee (7-15) takes on Van Buren at 2:30 p.m. in the Class 1, District 1 Tournament at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff.
Notre Dame 4, Oran 2
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Nikki Peters struck out nine and did not walk a batter as the Bulldogs wrapped up their regular season with a win at home on Monday.
Peters allowed four hits in going the distance for Notre Dame (18-4).
Aubrianna Jones took the loss for Oran (5-15). She pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and one walk.
The Eagles, seeded fifth, open Class 1 District 1 tournament play at 4:15 p.m. today against fourth-seeded Winona (13-8) at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff.
Volleyball
Portageville 2, Caruthersville 0
HAYTI -- The Portageville Lady Bulldogs volleyball team swept past Caruthersville 25-14, 25-7 in the first round of the Bootheel Conference Tournament Monday night.
Senior Brittany Bessenger had 11 kills in the match and had 11 points on her serve with three aces. Senior Molly Frakes added 10 serving points.
Portageville (24-3-1) will take on Campbell tonight in a semifinal match.
NMCC 2, Scott City 0
SCOTT CITY -- The New Madrid County Central Lady Eagles defeated Scott City 25-18, 25-18 on the road Tuesday.
NMCC improved to 11-11-2 with the win.
The Lady Eagles fell to Notre Dame 25-4, 25-13 on the road Monday night.
Oran 2, Charleston 1
CHARLESTON -- The Oran Lady Eagles won a thrilling three set road match against Charleston on Tuesday evening.
Oran won the first set 25-15 with Charleston rebounding to win the second set 25-18. Oran then came back to win a tight third set 26-24 to earn the win.
SCAA Tournament
BLOOMFIELD -- The Dexter Lady Bearcats volleyball team rolled into the semifinals of the Stoddard County Conference Tournament on Monday, while the Richland Lady Rebels were swept out of the tournament on Tuesday.
Defending tournament champion and top seed Dexter increased their winning streak to 17 games with a 25-10, 25-5 victory over eighth-seeded Bell City on Monday.
Dexter freshman Krysten Garrison put together one of her best hitting performances of the season against Bell City, with six kills in each set and adding five blocks.
Brittany Brown had six of nine aces and Julie Hahn had 13 assists.
Second-seeded Bernie rolled past seventh-seeded Richland 25-13, 25-9 on Tuesday night to advance to the semifinals.
Also on Tuesday night, fourth seeded Bloomfield advanced to the semifinals with a 20-25, 25-16, 25-12 win over fifth-seeded Woodland. Third-seeded Advance defeated sixth-seeded Puxico 25-20, 25-23 on Monday night.
Dexter will take Bloomfield in the semifinals Thursday night while Bernie will play Advance in the other semifinals.
