New Madrid County Sheriff, Terry M. Stevens, and members of the Sheriff's Department are asking for local sponsorships to help provide informational hand out material for New Madrid County citizens.

The materials selected include 24-page activity manuals, brochures, pamphlets, badges, stickers and many other items that will be used to teach the fundamentals of child safety and drug awareness.

The Sheriff's Department is working again with the National Child Safety Council to provide these materials, and they feel these will be extremely effective and well-received.

These new materials address a broad range of topics such as peer pressure, internet safety, conflict resolution, gang prevention, stranger danger, drug education, basic safety and other community concerns.

Donations received will remain local and work directly with the communities within New Madrid County. Any donation is appreciated, and all donations are tax deductible.

As a show of appreciation, donors' names or business names will be listed on the materials distributed throughout the county.

If you are interested in donating, or have any questions, please contact the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department at 748-2516 by November 13, 2014.
