PUXICO -- Top-seeded Kelly made quick work of the host team during the semifinal round of the Class 2, District 1 tournament Wednesday knocking off Puxico 12-1 in five innings.
Alexis Dock earned the win in the circle after three innings of work. Dock, who also went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, struck out four, walked one and gave up one of Puxico's two hits.
Shanda Reed added a three run home run while Morgan LeDure and Hailey Noon each had two hits apiece.
Kelly (22-4) will take on Portageville today at 1 p.m. in the district championship game. Dock and Portageville pitcher Taylor Tiffany will more than likely meet in a rematch of last year's semifinal.

Sophomore Alexis Glidwell played the role of hero Wednesday belting a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Portageville past Saxony 2-1.
Glidwell finished 2 for 3.
Taylor Tiffany struck out the first six batters of the game an allowed just two hits.

POPLAR BLUFF (SMNS) -- Fifth-seeded Oran dealt a major upset to fourth-seeded Winona to advance to today's semifinal in the Class 1 District 1 tournament at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
The Eagles crushed the Wildcats 15-1 in Tuesday's opening-round game.
Oran (6-15) will face top-seeded Naylor (16-9) at 4 p.m. today. Third-seeded Chaffee (8-13) will take on second-seeded Van Buren (15-6) at 2 p.m. in today's other semifinal. The championship game has been moved to 6 p.m. tonight after the completion of each semifinal due to the impending threat of inclement weather.
