__Last Week:__ Chaffee lost to Malden 68-6; Jefferson defeated Grandview 34-7

__Outlook:__ Chaffee's offense continues to struggle, scoring only 32 points in six games so far this season. To make matters worse, the Red Devils' team leader and top offensive lineman, Trevor Morehead (6-2, 291, sr.), will miss the rest of the season due to injury. That hurts the defense as well that is allowing 35 points per game. On the other side, Jefferson scores just 21 points per game. Junior quarterback Austin Graves is the top offensive threat for the Blue Jays, throwing for 569 yards and five touchdowns while gaining 637 yards on the ground with seven touchdowns. Sophomore running back Dustin Govro had a big game last week against Grandview, gaining 243 yards on 29 carries. Defensively the Blue Jays are allowing 38 points per game.

__East Prairie at Charleston__

__Records:__ East Prairie 5-2; Charleston 0-7

__Series History:__ Charleston leads 67-6-2

__Last Meeting:__ 2013, Charleston won 40-20

__Last Week:__ East Prairie defeated Portageville 34-32; Charleston lost to Kennett 47-6

__Outlook:__ East Prairie has only defeated Charleston six times in 75 meetings, something the Eagles are looking to change this year. Three times this season East Prairie has scored over 20 points in the fourth quarter, scoring 22 last week to rally past Portageville. The Eagles are led by quarterback Brett Ellis (6-0, 188). The junior threw for 126 yards and a touchdown last week while rushing for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Deverence Jones (5-8, 147, so.) continued his stellar play, scoring the game-winning touchdown on a hook and lateral while gaining 68 yards on the ground and 33 yards receiving. Charleston has allowed 54.7 points per game this season, but improved last week against Kennett. The winless Blue Jays have also struggled offensively, scoring just 10 points per game. Last week, Tennerious Ewing (5-6, 180, jr.) rushed for over 100 yards and was 2 for 5 throwing the football. Tyler Craig (6-3, 174, sr.) had Charleston's only points on a 56-yard touchdown run.

__Park Hills Central at Dexter__

__Series History:__ Tied at 3-3

__Last Meeting:__ 2013, Park Hills Central defeated Dexter 39-0

__Last Week:__ Park Hills Central defeated Fredericktown 43-8; Dexter defeated NMCC 28-19

__Outlook:__ Park Hills Central comes in ranked third in Class 3, allowing just nine points per game while scoring 40 points a contest. The Rebels can run and pass and scorched Fredericktown through the air last week behind quarterback Jake Bridges (5-8, 150). The signal caller completed 15 passes for 219 yards, connecting with Hunter Strange, a North County transfer, seven times for 136 yards. Running back Brandon Maberry (6-2, 192, sr.) scored four touchdowns, one on fumble recovery, gaining 49 yards on just 10 carries. Collin Bess (6-6, 225, sr.) along with Maberry are both returning all-staters that anchor the Rebel defense. Dexter scored 28 points last week but only gained 218 total yards. Quarterback Peyton Pollock (6-2, 190, sr.) threw for three touchdown passes and 130 yards while being intercepted once. Ethan Stevens (5-10, 175, jr.) caught two of those passes for touchdowns, grabbing six catches for 53 yards in the game. The Bearcats held NMCC in check for most of the night, intercepting the Eagles three times.

__Kelly at Portageville__

__Records:__ Kelly 3-4; Portageville 4-3

__Series History:__ first meeting

__Last Week:__ Caruthersville defeated Kelly 60-18; Portageville lost to East Prairie 34-32

__Outlook:__ Kelly gave up 483 rushing yards to Caruthersville last week, and 53 first half points. The previous two weeks, both wins, the Hawks had allowed just one score. Kelly also struggled offensively last week, gaining only 153 yards. Running back Ethan Faries (6-0, 165, jr.) led Kelly with 86 yards and a touchdown while quarterback Kyle Fitzgerald (6-0, 175, so.) threw for 66 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice. Portageville saw a big lead against East Prairie evaporate in the fourth quarter last week. In the process they lost senior linebacker Derrick Priggel to injury. His status for this week was not known at press time. The Bulldogs also lost coach Jeff Bullock, who was ejected late in last weeks game and now must miss Friday's game, per MSHSAA rules. The Bulldogs were good again on the ground, gaining 220 yards with junior Daniel McCray gaining 111. Junior quarterback Jon Garrett Kellams threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to freshman wide receiver Ian Torrey.

__NMCC at Fredericktown__

__Records:__ NMCC 3-4; Fredericktown 1-6

__Series History:__ NMCC leads 9-6

__Last Meeting:__ 2013, Fredericktown won 32-26 in overtime

__Last Week:__ NMCC lost to Dexter 28-19; Fredericktown lost to Park Hills Central 43-8

__Outlook:__ NMCC struggled offensively last week as head coach John Dryden missed the game due to illness. The Eagles managed 285 yards with 77 coming on a pass from quarterback J.C. Dryden to receiver Asten Newsom. Newsom also threw a 74 yard pass to Tyler Sprouse on a flee flicker for a score. The Eagles had a punt blocked, threw two interceptions, fumbled away a kickoff and turned the ball over on downs on their last five offensive possessions of the first half last week, with one interception returned for a touchdown. Fredericktown has won just one game in the first season of coach Paul Sauer. Patrick Smothers (5-8, 145, sr.) has taken over the quarterback position for the Blackcats and completed six passes for 136 yards. HIs top receiver last week was senior Tyler Reed who had three catches for 128 yards. Fredericktown scores just 15 points per game while allowing 28.8 points per game.
