I believe ...

Per capita, I do believe that Sikeston is worse than St. Louis. And also, a lot of times people can't tell the ones that work around you. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

Here comes the judge

I visit Sikeston each year to watch the Cotton Carnival parade. I enjoy the bands, pretty girls, etc. I love the floats, but upon hearing who won I was a little disappointed. To me the bank was an advertisement. It was pretty. The float I liked was the carnival-themed one. It looked like it had a lot of work plus movement. Actually there was another with the airplane and truck. It was good also. Just wondering what they judge on. Just saying.

Not my fault

Dangerous cities list was a scam by alarm company by staff reporter. I guess they don't use names down at the Standard Democrat. But who better to ask than the leader of crime protection. It's a scam they said. Oh yes, it's not your fault. You and Obama and the rest of our leaders are always saying, 'It's not my fault.' It's all about free advertising. Really? Most residents know better except those that live in specific areas. They should be alarmed. Maybe the city should buy them some alarm or surveillance systems. Looks like you folks in Sikeston might need them. By the way, there were two shootings in Cape just the other night. Bottom line, do your jobs and get off the Top Ten List. Pass the tissues please and take your gun to the Walmart parking lot because you might need it.
