PORTAGEVILLE -- The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Portageville Bulldogs and the visiting Kelly Hawks, observed Portageville's football squad bounce Kelly by a count of 48-7.

Portageville led 6-0 after one quarter and 14-7 at halftime but outscored the Hawks 34-0 in the second half to improve to 5-3 on the season.

The Bulldogs had 264 yards rushing on the night and completed 13 of 23 passes for 203 yards with three touchdowns and only one interception.

Kelly (3-5) gained 115 yards on the ground and added 66 yards through the air, but threw two interceptions and completed only 3 of 15 passes.

This Friday, Portageville will host their home regular season game against The New Madrid County Central Eagles football team. It will also be senior night. Last week NMCC lost a non-conference game against Fredericktown by a score of 36-6. they have a record of 3-5.
