BENTON - A Benton couple is in custody after deputies found drug paraphernalia during a search of their home.
Russell Eugene Turner, 50, and Connie Yvonne Turner, 40, are charged with the felonies of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia,.
According to a news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, deputies Matt Scroggins and Danny Finley went the the Turner residence on Highway 77 at approximately 12:50 p.m. Saturday as part of a follow-up investigation. After a consent to search form was signed by Mrs. Turner and verbal consent was given by Turner, deputies searched the residence, locating drug paraphernalia.
"A field test of the residue on the items indicated positive for the presence of methamphetamine," Walter said in a news release. "Connie Turner admitted to using methamphetamine. Russell Turner denied using the drug, but later submitted to a urine test which indicated positive."
As of Sunday, the Turners remain in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond for each is set by the court at $750.
