SIKESTON -- Sikeston's Maggie Shepherd became the first Lady Bulldog softball player to make the Class 3 first team all-region squad.

The third baseman finished her season with a .522 batting average, four home runs, 34 RBI and an on-base percentage of .587. She also had a slugging percentage of .900.

Shepherd led Sikeston (15-13) to its first district championship game appearance in school history but fell to Notre Dame 10-2.

Shepherd, along with Madison Smith, Hanna Placek and Kylie Noe, made the Class 3, District 1 all-district team as well.
