New Jaws

Public Safety Officer Jacob Bell, one of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety's newest employees, tries one of Hurst's new eDRAULIC rescue tools Wednesday on a junk car donated by Satterfield's Wrecker Service. The eDRAULIC line features self-contained hydraulics and are battery operated so users are no longer "tethered" by hydraulic hoses to a power unit, according to Lt. Rick Rapert of the Sikeston DPS. The demonstration was arranged by Bill Franz, vice president of sales for Sentinel Emergency Solutions, the Missouri and Illinois distributor for Hurst, a company known for the Jaws of Life, the first hydraulic rescue tool. Sikeston DPS officers were joined by members of the Chaffee Fire Department, East Prairie Fire Department, Morehouse Fire Department, New Madrid Fire Department, South Scott County Ambulance District and New Madrid County Ambulance District at Fire Station No. 1 in Sikeston for the demo.
