Praising cane

I want to thank the person at Walmart when I went to get some apples. I misplaced my four-prong cane, and whomever it was, took it to Lost and Found. I hope they have a happy Thanksgiving. It made my day to get my cane back.

No way to treat a vet

The Sikeston VA Clinic does everything that they can to help people over there. But after three days of trying to get through to the business office, there are no forms being sent out to people. You can't get treated here. I called back again and they gave me a number to call that said I needed a card to join their program. I told them Poplar Bluff didn't send cards out and they said maybe by February they would have some to send. I saw in the paper where we were supposed to do this and they said they gave out the wrong information to the media. I've been going to Poplar Bluff and St. Louis for about three years. I'm legally blind. The heart doctor over there at Poplar Bluff said he was not God and the VA could not help me. That he could not do anything for me and I should go somewhere else. Just letting you know what's really going on at the VA.

Six and counting

I cannot believe that in the Sunday paper a little ol' girl over in Charleston had her sixth child. That is ridiculous. They ought to tie her tubes or do something. If that was my child, I don't think I would put it in the paper if I was a parent or grandparent. Six children and you know who's taking care of these children. This is ridiculous. Get them off their back and get them to work.

Don't drink and drive

I just got through reading an article in the paper about that St. Louis player who was killed drinking while driving a few weeks ago. His girlfriend was also killed. I think there should be signs in all ballparks that say if you are going to drink, you don't need to drive. Drinking can be very dangerous. If you are gonna drink, don't drive. You might not only save your life but the life of somebody else. I think the wrecked car needs to be displayed at the gates of Busch stadium so people can see what could happen to them.
