Jordan Penn has been named head coach of the Kennett High School girls basketball team, according to Kennett School District Assistant Superintendent and Athletic Administrator Brandon Jones.

The announcement comes nearly three days after the sudden resignation of former head coach Richard Driscoll, who took over the role in June 2014.

Penn, a Portageville native, has been a familiar face at both the Kennett Middle School and high school. While teaching Physical Education and working as health instructor at the middle school, he is head coach of the seventh grade boys basketball team. He also worked on the high school football coaching staff under Aaron Pixley.

Penn takes over the role of head coach just two weeks ahead of the regular season.
