CHARLESTON -- If the Mississippi County Historical Society's Moore Home is a place you'd like to spend more time in, you're in luck.

Society members are putting the finishing touches on decorations for their annual Christmas holiday open house.

"We still have to put lights on the porch," said Sophie Dugan, president of the Mississippi County Historical Society.

But this Friday, "it will be lit up and come alive," Dugan said. "Both floors are beautifully decorated."

Doors for the open house open at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

"There will be light refreshments -- cookies, candy, that type of thing -- apple cider," Dugan said. "We will have musical entertainment by Jerry McDowell and Company."
