A little too close to me

I'd like to find out, if you are planning on putting an awning on your house, how many feet do you have to be from the street to your driveway. And if it's an older house, are you grandfathered in? They put one over here on Garwood Street and its like 10 feet from the house.

You need to contact code enforcement. They will be able to answer your questions.

Paying back with interest

Can we back up a little bit on this Ferguson, Mo., mess. These people don't remember nothing. A grand jury decided that Officer Wilson feared for his life and acted in self defense and shot Michael Brown. The protestors want us to believe that Brown was a choir boy who never did anything wrong. Michael Brown was a thief, a felon and also a drug abuser who tested positive for marijuana after he was shot. This young black man assaulted a police officer who shot him in self defense. Michael Brown was the product of a broken home with little supervision on right from wrong and the consequences that come from mistakes. Where were Brown's parents before he was shot? And what about their teaching of the way to have a peaceful demonstration was if it doesn't go our way, "We burn the bitch down," referring to the town. If I owned a business there, damaged or not, I would bulldoze my business to the ground, haul it off and sell the dirt lot and never come back. My guess is Brown's Mom and Dad did not have a clue as to what their boy was capable of or where he was half the time, but as soon as he was shot, somebody starts the ball rolling on "payback" and maybe a lawsuit - you know, the old something of nothing thing. I would like to be on that jury.

Nothing's free

To the person who got a free phone and was bragging about it. You get 250 minutes a month. Woo-hoo, I was almost impressed. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you got a free phone and can call all your close friends. It makes it easier on us working people so we don't have to worry what you are doing in your spare time. We will read about it later when you do something stupid or one of your friends does and we can read it in the paper. How? You made one mistake and said it was free, and most intelligent people know nothing is free. You gave your life history, ID, Social Security number, home and address and they have your number. One week later the government also knew all your friends and everything you all talked about and who is legal and who's not. Congratulations.
